ITMO-UNILAG RECEIVES AWARD AS SECOND BEST PERFORMING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER OFFICE (IPTTO)
The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) has awarded the Innovation and Technology Management Office (ITMO) of the University of Lagos as the second performing IPTTO office in Nigeria.
The Ag. Director of the unit, Dr. Abiodun Gbenga-Ilori received the award on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor of the University. The award is a celebration of the office's commitment to propelling the innovation ecosystem, Intellectual property and technological advancement within the university and our nation at large. In her words, she expressed her joy at the milestone the office has recorded in recent years. She stated that this is a step in the right direction as the University is well positioned more than ever to drive innovation and technology adavancement in the country through massive capacity buildingh, providing funding for prototypes, intellectual property filing and industry linkages towards technology transfer and commercialization.
The award ceremony was held at the Kanem Suite, 41 Ajose Adeogun Street, Utako, Abuja on the 31st of January 2024. It was attended by top dignitaries from government and private organizations.
